Festival 2020 canceled06. apr 2020
Skagen Festival has closely followed the Corona development in Denmark, and it is with deep regret that we, together with the rest of Denmark, this evening received the Danish Prime Minister's announcement that all summer festivals, markets and other major events are canceled.
We, the management of Skagen Festival, are deeply saddened by this and we are so sorry for everyone affected by this; the guests of our festival, the visitors of Skagen, our artists, all our volunteers, sponsors and suppliers. We were really looking forward to a fantastic 50 years anniversary festival.
That said, there are now more questions than answers and we expect to have an answer to many of those questions within the next few days. Here and now the most important message is that we stand with the rest of Denmark by staying apart.
The central subject is whether or not Skagen Festival will return in 2021 – and that we can answer for sure. It is our intention in the festival management to plan the anniversary festival in 2021.
Additionally, there are many other pressing issues: What about my ticket? When is the festival held in 2021? What about the artists? And several other practical questions.
We kindly ask for your understanding, that we are still processing the announcement and we promise to get back with news and updates as soon as possible. Furthermore, we are also awaiting a joint cancellation from our industry organization, Dansk Live.
